TOURNAMENT RULES
Patterns / Forms
Patterns should begin and end on the same spot, and should be the pattern/form you are studying at the time. Where possible there will be a mixed judging panel if the division calls for it i.e.: where there is mixed arts in the same division.
SAFTY EQUIPMENT.
Essential: Head guard, hand & foot pads, shin guards, gum shield, groin guard (for men)
(closed finger for continuous or boxing gloves).
Optional: Ladies chest protector.
SPARRING-POINT STOP.
Scoring: 3 points head kick
2 points body kick
1 point all hand techniques (no sweeps)
Illegal Targets: Face, eyes, throat, back, below belt and back of head.
Contact: Should be light at all times. All points will be scored above the belt.
The bout will be 1.5 (one and a half) minutes, or first to 10 points.
In event of a draw an extra 30 seconds will then be given. If after this extra time there is still a draw, the first Competitor to score wins.
Continuous Sparring.
Contact should be light at all times anyone using excessive contact will be warned depending on severity, this will be at the referees discretion.
Each round will be 1.5 (one and a half) minutes long. If a draw occurs then 30 second will be added, if then a draw occurs then first point will win the bout.
OFFICIAL WARNINGS.
Warnings will be issued for excessive contact, leaving the area, arguing, drawing blood turning back on opponent. These will be at the discretion of each referee, upon 3rd warning students will be disqualified.
DISPUTES.
Any dispute should be brought to the attention of the Chief Umpire Mr Charles Boyle through the Competitors own Instructor, no other means will be accepted.
Any student who thinks they have been entered into the wrong division should bring it to the attention of their instructors as early as possible, so as details may be changed. Once a division has started it cannot be changed and the student/s will be disqualified. |
