COLOURED BELT/PANTHERS GRADING
A total of thirty students from all sections of the Academy participated in the first grading of 2008. Grading results can be viewed here for juniors and adults and here for the Panthers.

BLACKBELT GRADING OCTOBER 2007

Seventeen students from both adult and junior sections of the academy participated in the final coloured belt grading of 2007 held on 8h December at the Crawfordsburn Community Centre. Grading results can be viewed here.

I.T.S ENGLISH OPEN
The 28th of October the Scottish Tae Kwon-Do Academy traveled to Kidderminster to take part in the Independent Tae Kwon- Do Schools English Open, hosted by Mr John Swift. Full story

2007 SCOTTISH OPEN
The 25th March saw the Inverclyde branch of the Scottish Tae Kwon-Do Academy host the 4th Scottish Open in the Greenock Sports Centre. Charles and Gillian Boyle host the event every year where people travel from all over the U.K and Ireland. Full Story
ITS BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Inverclyde branch of the Scottish Tae Kwon-Do Academy recently travelled to Kidderminster to compete in the Independent Tae Kwon-Do Schools British Championships with over 300 people taking part on the day the students of Inverclyde done there Instructors proud. Read the full story

GTI SOUTHERN OPEN
Scottish Tae Kwon-Do Academy traveled to Swindon last weekend for the G.T.I. (Global Tae kwon-do International) Southern Open hosted by Master Clive Harrison 7th degree blackbelt. Full story.
CLUB COMPETITON/AWARDS DAY 2006
Saturday 27th January saw Inverclyde Taekwondo host the 1st of this years inter club competitions. With divisions for patterns & sparring 38 members of the Academy took part. Full details here

2006 SWORD OF FRIENDSHIP
The last weekend in November saw Inverclyde Scottish Tae Kwon-Do Academy travel to Cork to compete in the 3rd annual Sword of Friendship. Hosted by last years adult team winners Tae Kwon-Do Ireland. INVERCLYDE'S BLACK BELT SUCCESS
Friday the 8th of September 7 students from the Inverclyde branch of the Scottish Taekwondo Academy undertook there black belt grading under the very watchful eye of Master John Darcy 6th degree black belt and Action International Martial Arts Association's European director. Full Story
STUDENTS GAIN THEIR BLACKBELTS IN ARIZONA
Five students from Inverclyde Tae Kwon-Do gain blackbelt certification in Arizona on the 30th of July. Certified by the Action International Martial Arts Association and GrandMaster Hee Il Cho who is has been one of the most recognized figures in world of martial arts for the last 40 years. Read more.
LATEST GRADING RESULTS
Friday 15th was date for the third coloured belt grading of 2006. The hard work and dedication of the students was put to the test at Crawfordsburn Community Centre. The results can be viewed be clicking here.
AIMAA TAEKWONDO SEMINAR
Master John Darcy, 6th Degree Black belt and AIMAA Europe's Regional director will be visiting Scotland in September. During this time he will be holding a Taekwondo seminar in Greenock. With places limited students are advised to book early! Info

AIMAA IRISH NATIONALS
On Saturday the 13th of May eight students from Inverclyde Tae Kwon-Do traveled to Dublin to compete in the AIMAA Irish Nationals, hosted by Mr James Farrell of the Action International Martial Arts Association (AIMAA) Ireland branch. The students competed in both continuous sparring and breaking divisions. Read the full story here.
GRADING RESULTS
Crawfordsburn Community Centre was the chosen venue for the second coloured belt grading of 2006. Eighteen students participated and with an outstanding 100% pass rate it was yet another successful day for all at the club. Complete results here.
CLUB FUNDRAISING NIGHT
The Race Night at the Broomhill Tavern on Friday 16th June raised £567. This will be put towards the trip to Arizona USA for the 2006 AIMAA Summer Camp. We would like to thank everyone who attended the night and also to anyone who has donated funds to the club.
INVERCLYDE TAE KWONDO DUBLIN TRIP
On Saturday the 15th April 2006 students from Inverclyde taekwondo travelled to Dublin to train along side Master John Darcy 6th Degree blackbelt and action international martial arts association European director who also personally oversees the whole of Ireland. Full story.
GTI SOUTHERN TKD OPEN 2006
The club traveled to Swindon to compete in the 2006 Southern Taekwondo Open hosted by the GTI club. The competition saw the club continue the success of 2005 with a large trophy haul that included six first place prizes. Please click here for the full report

CLUB COMPETITION/AWARDS 2005

The Inverclyde Club Competition was held on Saturday 17th December in the Crawfordsburn Community Hall. A considerable crowd observed the club provide a spectacle for all to see. The competition began with the juniors point-sparring matches followed by the adult matches. The competition closed with a juniors team competition which contained four teams. The day ended with the clubs annual awards ceremony and the presentation of certificates to all of the recently promoted black belts. Saturday was another great success for the club with everyone enjoying themselves in what was a competitive but friendly atmosphere.
COLOURED BELT GRADINGS
Twenty students; three adults and seventeen juniors participated in the coloured belt grading held on 10th December at the Port Glasgow Hall. The event was a great sucess for the club with everyone receiving pass marks. Please click here to view the complete results.
AIMAA SWORD OF FRIENDSHIP TOURNAMENT '05
November saw 6 adults and 10 juniors travel to Cheltenham to compete in this years Sword of Friendship Competition. All teams performed courageously with honours being gained by both the boys and girls teams respectively. The boys team won their first round match against England 3 however were eventually defeated by the champions England 1 (10-6) and took third place back home. The girls reached the final only to narrowly miss out on first place by the Welsh team by just two points. The adult side faced an experienced England 1 side and despite a valiant effort were defeated by 10 points to 6. The overall event was won by the Irish team and they will be our hosts for next years competition which will be held in Cork.
BLACKBELT GRADING NOVEMBER 2005

On Saturday 5th November 8 club members successfully sat and passed their Black Belt grading held at Blantyre. Congratulations to the adults David Boyle, John Coxshott, Kirsten Gregg, Karen McEwan and to the juniors Caroline Bethel, Steven Daisley, Aimee Ellis and Craig McEwan. Very well done!! |
