Hayley Nalepa Memorial Competition
Ten student of the Scottish Tae Kwon-Do Academy along with parents and club instructors, travelled to Cheltenham to compete in the Hayley Nalepa Memorial Competition, Hayley was tragically killed in a car crash last June, she was aslo a 3rd degree black belt and travelled to Greenock regular to compete in the Scottish Open, the event was held by Master Clive Harrison 7th Degree Blackbelt of the N.I.T.A. Tae Kwon-Do Club the day started by all the clubs from Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales lining up to welcome Hayley's Mum, Dad and sister into hall as Hayely parents are also Blackbelts in Master Harrison Clubs.the day started with juniors patterns then sparring ( fighting ), our students started another great day by winning 14 trophies with 5 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze. the winning students were: Logan Boyle: 3rd in points Sparring. Ciaran Lynch: 2nd in patterns 2nd points Sparring. Amy Rodger: 1st in points Sparring, 3rd in Continuous Sparring. Joshua Cummings: 1st in points Sparring, 1st in Continuous Sparring, 3rd in patterns. Louis Rowe: 3rd in points Sparring, 2nd in Continuous Sparring. John Reid: 2nd points Sparring. Gemma Dockerty: 1st in Continuous Sparring, 2nd in points Sparring. Elliot McVey: 1st in Paterrns. Mr & Mrs Boyle would like to say well done to Scott Harper and John Wamlesy just missing out in medals. Club instructors Mr and Mrs Boyle congratulated the students who competed on the day, as everyone gave 100 per cent again. Thanks to Frank at Hardies Coaches for their continued support. The club is back in training for the next big tournament which is the 7th Scottish Tae Kwon-Do Academy Open Championships at home ground at Lady Octavia Sport Centre Bridgend Road Greenock on the 27th March 2011.
