INVERCLYDE TAE KWON-DO DUBLIN TRIP
On Saturday the 15th of April 5 students from inverclyde tae kwon-do travelled to Dublin to train along side Master John Darcy 6th Degree blackbelt and action international martial arts association European director, Who also personally oversees the whole of Ireland.
Mr Charles Boyle Instructor along with students Gillian Boyle, Rachel Milller, Jordan Learie and James Lewis travelled to Ireland to take in the knowledge that Master Darcy had to share.
The training covered all aspects of Tae Kwon-Do from stretching, stamina, patterns, line work, pad work, 1 step sparring techniques, sparring and also theory along with having the correct mental attitude to be part of the Martial Arts community.
The weekend consisted of two, two hour training sessions on the Sunday and then again on the Monday evening. The Sunday session being only for our students and then on the Monday Master Darcy invited us to train along side his own students showing a totally, different approach to our training with introducing music for the warm down (playing the theme from rocky the kids absolutely loved it). Master Darcy praised Mr Boyle on the flexibility of his junior students and had them showing off to all of his students in his advanced class on the Monday evening. The students along with others will be travelling to Dublin again on the 13th of May for the Irish National Championships.
The trip was made by these students because they will be travelling to Arizona in July to test for there blackbelts under World Famous Grandmaster Hee Il Cho president and founder of the Action International Martial Arts Association. They will also be taking part in the Arizona state Championships to be held on the 29th of July, the blackbelt grading on the 30th of July and then to follow that a weeks long Summer Camp at the Arizona State University. A very exciting and expensive trip to be making costing students nearly £2000 each not to mention there parents travelling with them. These students are showing true dedication to there Art, if anyone out there wishes to make a donation towards the trip then please contact Mrs Boyle.
