The 8th of February saw 18 Scottish Tae Kwon-Do Academy students travel to Kilmarnock along with club Instructors Charles & Gillian Boyle to compete in the White Dragons 1st International Invitational Kickboxing Tournament. The Tae Kwon-Do students competed along side different martial arts such as kickboxing, Kung fu & Karate. The event also had competitors from as far away as Nepal and Sri Lanka.
The only divisions on offer on the day were continuous sparring, with each student reaching the final having to fight in 3 rounds of 2 minutes each. It was a hard test for all students on the day but all proved successful with a medal haul of 18 trophies, 5 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronze

Andrew Morton 3rd in under 4'8 boys junior grades
Lewis McLaughlin 3rd in under 4'8 boys junior grades
Amy Rodger 3rd in under 4'8 girls junior grades
James Lewis 1st in under 5'2 boys senior grades
Aimee Ellis 1st in under 5'2 girls senior grades
Samantha Todd 1st in over 5'2 girls senior grades
Gemma Docherty 2nd in over 5'2 girls senior grades
James Moran 1st in over 5'2 boys senior grades
Drew Morton 3rd in men's junior grades
James Duffy 2nd in men's 80kgs
Elliot McVey 3rd in men's -70kgs
Ross Derrick 3rd in men's -65kgs
All students done extremely well on the day, and are now back in training for the Global Tae Kwon-Do International tournament at the end of March.
