On the 11th November Master & Mrs Boyle along with another 16 members of Inverclyde Cho’s Tae kwon-Do took the long trip to Honolulu Hawaii to Aimaa headquarters to train with Grand Master Hee Il Cho
AIMAA Founder, President & Cheif Instructor Grand Master Hee Il Cho is renowned throughout the world as one of the leading and most innovative teachers of Tae Kwon-Do and the Martial Arts, with numerous magazine covers and titles worldwide. Grandmaster Cho has also appeared in numerous movies, written books and produced over 70 dvds.
Two years ago the group decided they would like the chance to train with Grandmaster Cho (as Grandmaster Cho no longer travels) and also give 4 students the chance to grade under the president of our association.
The grading was the 18th International Black Belt Testing, held under the watchful eye of Grandmaster Cho. The 18th of November saw Logan Boyle, Leah McCallum, Jason Cox and Jamie McKenna take to the floor along side students from Grandmaster Chos own club. Who successfully tested 2nd Degree Black Belt. Master Boyle was alongside Grandmaster Cho on the grading panel, while Mrs Boyle sat along side Grandmaster Cho’s senior Black belts to grade his senior colored belts.
The test was rigorous, each participant performed patterns, AIMAA curriculum, one step sparring, self defence, sparring, board breaking as well as theory on all parts of Korean history and it’s influences in Tae Kwon-Do, as well as being asked about there essays that they had to submit . The group had a full week of training with Grand Master before the testing so they could climatize to the heat and humidity as temperatures reach higher than 30c.
All students and family members had such a fantastic time that they will all return again in 2 years time to train with Grand Master Cho again.
